Introduction

Residing near St-François du Lac, more commonly known as Odanak, the Abenakis of St-Francis have a rich history recorded through almost 9000 entries of legal transactions. Important historical information from the words of the recorder at the time of the event is included in each description. Our many ancestors with family names like Benedict, Capino, Hannis, Obomsawin, Panadis, Paquette, Tahamont, Wawanolet, are included in this large collection.
